#BackToTheFourth | Goal: $75,000
For more than 50 years, Mira Mesa has celebrated Independence Day with the kind of charm and community spirit you’d expect from a small town—but with a big sky full of fireworks. Generations of neighbors, families, and friends have gathered in parks and on rooftops to watch the sky come alive with color and sound. It’s more than a show. It’s tradition.
Now, we’re asking our community to help bring that tradition back home.
The Goal: $75,000 for 2026
In 2026, our country will celebrate its 250th anniversary—a once-in-a-lifetime milestone in American history. We want Mira Mesa to shine that night, as it always has, with fireworks lighting up the sky on the night: July 4th.
But to make that happen, we need to raise $75,000. And we need your help to do it.
Why “Back to the Fourth”?
Due to budget challenges and rising costs, the fireworks show hasn’t always been able to stay on July 4 in recent years. We’ve kept the tradition alive, but we know the heart of it is being together on the Fourth. That’s what this campaign is all about: bringing our community Back to the Fourth.
Whether you’ve been coming to the Mira Mesa Fireworks since the 1970s or just discovered it with your kids last year, you’re part of something special. A legacy. A neighborhood. A spark.
Over 50 Years Strong
When Mira Mesa was still new, a group of locals dreamed up a Fourth of July celebration to bring neighbors together. That dream is carried on by Scripps Mesa Fireworks, and it’s been going strong for more than five decades. We’ve celebrated through recessions, renovations, relocations—and we’re still here, still community-powered, still volunteer-run.
Let’s keep that legacy alive for the next generation.
